Sharon Ray sworn in as Medina County recorder
MEDINA — Sharon Ray is Medina County’s newest recorder after being sworn in during the commissioners’ meeting Tuesday.
Commissioner Colleen Swedyk said the Medina County Republican Central Committee appointed Ray to the role, and she officially took over the recorder’s office Tuesday.
“I would like to say it is an honor to continue serving the citizens of Medina County,” Ray said. “I’m looking forward to taking over the recorder’s office and providing the continued excellent service that our citizens are used to.”
Ray announced that she is resigning as the state representative for House District 66 on Monday. In her new role, she is replacing Linda Hoffmann, who retired as Medina County recorder on Sept. 8.
Voters will choose a recorder in the November election. The Medina County Democratic Central Committee selected Bradford Scott Quade to run for the unexpired term as Medina County recorder this fall against Ray.
